Every day we see evidence of the pet population of the inner city - dogs being walked down streets in parks - cats appearing in windows.
I met and photographed two apartment dwelling members of this much loved group living in an iconic inner east building.
Nellie is a Schnauzer who was adopted by J&J since she was a puppy. Growing up with a big backyard, Nellie had to adjust to living in the city but she’s made many friends in the Potts Point neighbourhood - members of the exclusive dog inhabitants of this very puppy friendly place.
You would expect an inner city dog to head out for walks in the mornings with her group of friends and then in the evening with her favourite people.
Her ‘sibiling’ Annie, a ginger cat, came to stay about 2 years ago. Annie’s ‘mum’ now resides in HK so she’s staying with her ‘grandparents’.
Both Annie & Nellie shares the same curiosity for visitors, and are very inquisitive and social - a trait you would expect well groomed inner city pets to be. I’ll leave you to ‘read’ their story below.
