It can be a constant struggle - finding time that is - between commissioned shoots, work (a 6 month contract to deepen my analytical skills and contribute - did I tell you I still dream of working for the CIA?), family and friends, and personal work. But I did make myself a promise to shoot more film this year. The Canon AE-1 is now my go-to camera. The recent flash addition (only $60) means I'm no longer constrained by film speed's limitation - great for shooting in the Winter months when you have little daylight. I still find the split screen focusing a challenge; I don't trust my eyes, and I think my lens may be faulty as it produces a kind of tilt-shift effect when focusing at a certain distance (I'm not complaining though; I just need to be better at gauging distance is all).
