This is not the first fashion shoot I have done for a client - but possibly its the most important, because what could be more important than ensuring your dog has an appropriate bow tie and collar before hitting the urban sprawl and facing the canine fashionistas out there - every bit as competitive in 21st century neighbourhoods as the human variant is on the same pavements.
Louise is the designer of this cutting edge pooch apparel - operating under the business name Oh Jaffa. Her products are handmade from 100% pre-washed and shrunk cotton to ensure high levels of comfort durability suitable for weddings, engagements, cocktail parties, dates etc.
She contacted me after seeing photos I had taken of Pom Pom the French Bulldog (that’s another dog story).
Louise and I met for dinner - I saw a few samples and I was sold.
It didn’t take long before Louise and I started working on the concept for her shoot, featuring none other than Jaffa the pug (that’s Louises pooch BTW) as the model. Louise and Jaffa are a team - they have that special connection that I love.
From location scouting, styling, preparation, to a lot of musing on bespoke dog accessorization, I had more fun than I probably deserved. But we are talking about a superior concept here. Louise is already a very creative and organised person so she was great to work with. On top of that, she was 101% into it all - and so was Jaffa.
I’m really proud of what Oh Jaffa has achieved and super happy and excited to see the results on their spanking new website.
(Oh Jaffa will be at the Dog Lovers Show, 7-9 November. So drop in looking your best and say Hi to Louise & Jaffa for me, will ya?)
