Sharing some of my stash from yesterday’s #FridaDiegoSyd’s private tour by the @artgallerynsw with the #scallywags. #FridaKahlo was an animal lover - she had spider monkeys, fawn, birds and dogs (see below for #furbaby list & their creative names). I’m certain she wouldn’t have minded #pfcat (aka #Monkey) messing with her work! The highlight of the Exhibition to me were the 50+ photographs by Edward Weston, Lola Alvarez Bravo and Guillermo Kahlo (Frida’s father) - which left me wanting to see more from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection. Thank you @artgallerynsw for inviting me to the #instameet.

Frida’s pets:
// Fulang Chang & Caimito de Guayabal, the Spider monkeys // Bonito, the Amazon parrot, who would perform tricks at the table for rewards of pats of butter to guests // Granizo a fawn // Gertrudis Caca Blanca (Gertrude White Shit) an eagle; amongst parakeets, macaws, hens and sparrows // Mr Xoloti (favourite) hairless Mexican ixquintle.

More on my Tumblr.
