When it rains in Sydney, it really rains. Summer storms (not to be confused with the Sommersturm, 2004 German coming-of-age comedy-drama film) tend to appear anywhere just out of the blue. It can be so severe that it can lead to flash flooding. The NSW State Emergency Service issued a research paper on "Preparing for Severe Storms in NSW" (NSW is the State where Sydney is), bracing for another active thunderstorm season - global warming is pretty obvious. I couldn't resist heading out and documenting the storm in my neighbourhood Potts Point.
